January goals

I’m a very goal oriented person and I thought the new year would be a good time to begin doing monthly goal posts!  I have been tracking my 101 in 1001 goals with a lot of progress, but I wanted more accountability and I really just enjoy reading people’s goals that they set as well.  You are welcome to join the linkup below to be inspired by other people’s goals- I hope you join along!

With a very challenging semester + Devin traveling almost the entire time, I was kind of an anxious mess by the time my grad school finals ended.  We had no idea what a blessing it would be for us to go to DC for Christmas to spend with dear friends, but it was really an answer to prayers for us to be able to recharge and come into 2016 feeling hopeful and happy.  I’m ready to throw the energy I have now into developing a better routine and these goals are going to be helpful in helping me press forward!

Some of the goals I made were strictly for me to get into good habits again, but some were just so I take a breath of air in between grad school classes and work.  This is my last semester of grad school coming up and I want to really just finish off this journey happy acknowledging that I will probably miss many aspects of grad school later.

  • I love the idea of a monthly goal link up! I haven’t posted mine yet but I want to join in for sure! Yaaa!

    • Totally do it- I’m looking forward to seeing yours! 🙂

      • Hey! I’m popping over from Coming Up Roses because we were featured together today in the Operation Beautiful post. I like you intentional goal planning you’ve got going on, especially how specific and measured your goals are. That’s so helpful in achieving them. All the best in the new year!

        • Thanks for your sweet comment!! I am a little behind so I am checking out everyone’s blogs right now- I think it is really such a sweet feature that she has. I can already tell that 2016 is going to be a great year! ❤

  • ummmm i absolutely LOVE that last picture. <3
when it comes to the whole planner thing i'm so great at the "buy" part and so bad at the "use" part lol

    • Thank you on the photo! I used to be great at using planners, but haven’t bought one since I got a smart phone. Maybe not the smartest idea because I do much better with one!!

    • It’s great idea to create monthly goals! I’ll try to do it too. I think it will give me positive experience of achieving goals and it will make me to feel more confident.

  • Great goals this month! I love your balance between your spirituality, your physical health, and your mental/emotional well-being.

    • Thanks Brita! I enjoyed reading over yours too! I am trying to set up some good habits for the year and I’m surprised at how successful they have been going so far 🙂

  • Good luck fulfilling all your goals! Where do you guys like to go hiking?

    • Thanks Rebekah! 🙂 I like to go hiking around the mountains in the northern Georgia burbs! They are pretty, but easy hikes! If you’re from Georgia, I’ll send you more specific info.

  • My main goal is to not buy any clothes in 2016, eek! Overall though, I just want to simplify:

    • I think your goal is so amazing- you are going to save a lot of money and really find a lot of uses out of all of your clothes! Congrats on coming up with such a smart goal!!

    • Awesome goals! Hiking is one of my goals for the year. I miss the rugged landscapes of the Pacific NW (I moved to Texas 3 months ago when I got married) but I am adamant of finding hikes here in Texas too.
